MAP Program: Management and Program

P4 Pathways’ MAP Program
P4 Pathways’ premium MAP Program unites payers and physicians in a comprehensive endeavor to develop and maintain evidence-based clinical pathways that enhance patient care. Payers often remark that rapid changes in oncology therapy are making it difficult to predict costs and manage the disease state efficiently. The MAP program is an effective solution, partnering local payers and physicians to establish evidence-based oncology treatment protocols to deliver high quality, cost efficient patient care. These protocols support optimal patient outcomes by ensuring selection of the most appropriate therapy regimens, thereby minimizing side effects, toxicities, and costs associated with errors. Payers, patients, and physicians alike benefit from streamlined disease management.

P4 Pathways MAP Services
The comprehensive services offered by P4’s MAP Program ensure quick and flawless implementation of newly developed customized programs for each payer. Services include:

  1. Fee Schedule Development MAP works with payers to develop a reimbursement schedule that neutralizes drug margins and ensures drug choice is not influenced by financial incentives.
  2. Pathway Development MAP manages the development of pathways by establishing a steering committee of locally based academic and community oncologists to ensure pathways reflect both rigorous evidence based medicine; the clinical expertise and best practices in that region. The steering committee meets quarterly to approve updates ensuring pathway protocols quickly reflect any medical advancements and changes in data.
  3. Reward Structure MAP works with each payer to appropriately establish a program that incentivizes oncologists to follow the pathways and allows all parties to benefit from realized cost savings.
  4. Enrollment P4’s infrastructure and strong relationship with the oncology community allows us to reach, educate and enroll oncology practices. Through live meetings, webinars and local sales associates, P4 will establish open discussions between payers and physicians in order to gain alignment and adoption of the MAP program.
  5. Compliance Reporting Participating physicians must utilize P4’s eobONE reimbursement management and data analysis service. While this proprietary web-based tool collects all EOBs to help practices better manage denial and coding errors, it also provides compliance information for payers to help them quickly understand real time oncology spending and behavior.
